Open Studio
Hi everyone! I’m just starting back with work after nearly a month off for spring break, so while it’s back to normal for now, March was pretty productive and busy month. I had the time to make some larger work, and got to go see three exhibitions, including the group show Junko Oki was in!

Normally I enjoy thinking of titles for my work, but nothing came to me on this one. It’s 40x31 cm, so a bit big for me. I’m still obsessed with this turquoise Yokota Daruma thread.

Still with the turquoise. Like the previous work, this one is the same size and also untitled. Both are available. Shoot me an email if you’re keen.
This one is for Kate (18 x 18 cm)

I also decided to rework another major arcana card, The Empress. Please notice that the blue border is also covered in small stars, a happy find, and hopefully a small nod to The Empress’s crown of stars for those looking closely. I filmed each step of this work and have it privately listed on my YouTube channel for my paid subscribers only, coming soon under the cut. If you’re curious about my process and technique, this may be for you.

Last but not least, I worked on a few smaller works I’ve decided to call Satellite Fragments. Small explorations mirroring larger themes. I’m inspired by outerspace, space travel, and the universe. The circles in my work are held in gravity with one another, like a satellite. Connected no matter the distance. And each accumulation of thread its own discrete unit, isolated, and yet part of a field.

These are available for collecting here. As shipping costs continue to rise, customs fees for the EU, and the continued uncertainty over the US tariffs and Japan’s halting of post to the US, I hope these small works are not only an affordable way to collect my work, but also as a way to avoid these fees and tariffs. If you’re in the USA, these works can be shipped to you!
